Pigeon pea lentil curry with gujarati flavors

Ingredients
- 1 cup akhi tuvar dal / whole dry pigeon pea
- 2 Onion, chopped
- 2 Tomato, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder
- 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon Cloves, cinnamon stick powder
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
- 1 Dry red chili
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 2 teaspoons Green chilies
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 2 teaspoons Salt as per taste
Instructions
- Soak dal overnight. Pressure cook till beans are cooked.
- Heat oil. Stir fry spices, onion and tomatoes.
- Mix boiled dal in spices temper. Add water and cook till required consistency is achieved.
- Serve tuver na thotha hot with rice or roti.
