Shingara
Shingara is a tasty Bengali snack with a flaky and crispy crust, stuffed with cauliflower, potato and green peas. It is a great comfort food, especially during the winter season.

Ingredients
For dough
- 1/2 cup All purpose flour / Maida
- 1 pinch baking soda
- 1 drop lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
For Stuffing
- 1 medium sized potato, cut into bite size pieces
- 1/2 cup cauliflower florets
- 1 tablespoon green peas
- 1 tablespoon peanuts
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon of roasted cumin powder
- Turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- To make the filling, heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
- Then add potatoes, cauliflower florets, peas and all other spices and cover and cook.
- Once cooked, add peanuts and salt.
- Prepare the dough by kneading flour, baking soda, lemon juice, salt, oil and warm water.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll them into a round shape.
- Make a cut in the middle and form a triangle shape. Put the stuffing inside and seal the triangles.
- Deep fry the shingaras and serve hot.
