Nimmakaya Atukulu

Tangy, lemony cooked beaten rice

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Beaten Rice / Thick Poha
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chana Dal
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Urad Dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon Hing
  • Handful of Peanuts
  • 1 sprig Curry Leaves
  • 3 green chillies, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Dried red chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Lemon

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak poha with water. Drain. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, peanuts, green chillies, red chillies, curry leaves and hing. Roast for a minute.
  3. Add poha and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add lemon juice. Mix well.
  5. Serve Nimmakaya Atukulu hot.
