Gobi Kofte
Spicy balls made from cabbage

Ingredients
For Kofta
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 2 chopped green chilies
- 1 teaspoon mango powder / amchur
- 1 teaspoon sesame seed
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed / jeera
- 4 tablespoons gram flour / besan
- 250 gm cabbage, grated
For Curry / Gravy
- 6 tablespoons tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 4 tablespoons fried onion
- 4 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Mix all kofta ingredients in a bowl. Makes small lemon shaped balls.
- Deep fry over medium heat till uniformly brown. Drain excess oil. Keep aside.
- Heat oil. Roast ginger garlic.
- Add remaining gravy ingredients. Mix well. Cook covered for 10 minutes.
- Add cup of water. Bring to boil and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- To serve kofta, place fried balls in bowl and pour hot gravy.
- Serve gobi kofte with hot rice or roti.
