Chanar Dalna
Chanar Dalna is a Bengali style cottage cheese curry cooked in a lightly spiced delicious gravy. It can be served with plain rice.

Ingredients
For Gravy
- 2 tomatoes grated
- 1 cup potato, cubed
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder(cinnamon powder, green cardamom powder)
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying+Gravy
For paneer balls
- 2 cups homemade cottage cheese/paneer, made from 1.5 litre milk and 1 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 3/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 pinch turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 tablespoons maida/flour
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare paneer balls by mixing all the ingredients of paneer balls.
- Fry cheese balls until light brown. Keep aside.
- Fry potato cubes with little salt and turmeric powder and keep aside.
- In the rest of the oil, add bay leaf, grated ginger, tomato and dry masala and sauté
- Now add water and allow it to boil.
- Add fried potato and paneer balls.
- Serve Chanar dalna with plain rice.
