Bihari Kadhi
Besan badi/ dumplings are added to the curd based gravy

Ingredients
For Badi
- 1/2 cup Besan
- 2 Green Chilly
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 1 pinch Baking soda
- Salt-to taste
- Oil- For Deep Frying
For Kadhi
- 2 teaspoons Besan
- 1 cup Curd/ Yogurt
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 3 Red Chillies
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 1 tablespoon Chopped Ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 Curry Leaves, sprig
- Salt-to taste
Instructions
- Mix besan with green chilli, asafoetida, baking soda and salt into thick batter.
- Deep fry dumplings of batter till golden on all sides. Keep aside.
- Whisk besan with curd and 2 cups of water. Add turmeric powder and salt.
- Bring to boil. Put badis and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, chopped ginger and red chillies. Add this to boiling mixture.
- Enjoy rice with hot Bihari Kadhi
