Shallow fried spicy potato patties

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2 pieces of bread, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon black salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mango powder/ amchoor
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix mashed potatoes, shredded bread and corn flour.
  2. Mix all spices. Create discs / patties of potato mixture.
  3. Shallow fry patties till crispy and brown on sides.
  4. Serve alu tikki with tamarind chutney, coriander chutney, yogurt, boiled chick peas and chopped onions.
