Tomato Oambal

Hot, tangy and sweet tomato chutney

Ingredients

  • 3 Tomatoes, large chopped fine
  • 5 whoe dry red chillies, halved
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Raisins
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds and red chillies.
  2. Add tomatoes and cook till soft.
  3. Add water, jaggery and sugar. Mix and continue heating till thick sauce.
  4. Serve Tomato Oambal with savoury snack.
